superman position |
My plans for the day, workout wise, are two fold. I just finished up my second cross training session this week, as planned. Also, I am going to get in a 4-5 mile run later. I just spent 32 minutes on the following set:
5 minutes jump rope then twice through the following--
15 push ups
20 jumping jacks
20 bird dogs (video here)
farmer's walk, 38 lbs each side
1 min. side plank
20 lunges
2, 20 sec. supermans (video here)
7 pull ups
20 squats
30 mtn. climbers
5 minutes jump rope
If you notice, I added a couple new exercises that aren't typically in my routine. I always like to change it up a bit so I don't get bored. Also, I specifically chose these exercises to stretch out the body, specifically the core areas. If you watch the video on the superman exercise, the Dr. actually talks about this a bit, so I was happy to be on the same page as he, even before I watched it. People are typically tight through the mid section, even if healthy, simply due to daily routines. The superman, bird dog, and other exercises can help alleviate that tightness.
