Lots of runners have dealt with IT band syndrome and it is very common. However, what most people do not know, is that ice does nothing for it. It is not an inflammation injury. As runners, we tend to immediately ice any injury or pain. Don't bother doing so if you have the IT issue. You can read more about it in the atcile I will link below, but basically it is an injury to the connective band that runs down the side of your leg, parallel to your femur.
