First, Happy St. Patrick's Day! It's a great day to be Irish, go drink some beer, eat some soda bread, and get some corned beef. On a side note, even though I'm Irish, I think I'm having mexican for dinner tonight!
Well, if you read this blog, you know what my plans were for the week. Consequently, I stepped outside this morning with the intent of running a 10 miler at a slightly faster pace than comfort. However, I got out side and was greeted to a lot of snow and ice still on my route. So, I hit the road here and my run changed drastically. It felt good to be on road again after basically running in a small circle on wood floor for the last few months. I found myself pushing the pace a bit and decided to go with it.
I also realized about 15 minutes into the run, that breakfast would have been a good idea. I have't eaten anything since last night. Oops. I turned in a solid 4 miler in about 30:35ish. I averaged a 7:40/mile over the duration and am happy despite it being shorter than I wanted. What are you going to do on no gas in the tank. Maybe I will hit up the treadmill tonight to conclude the workout to get in the total distance.
