I just finished up a 4 mile run in my new Mizuno Wave Inspire 10. It was my first run in them and my first run in a shoe made by any other company not named Asics. I don't think I have run in a shoe other than Asics in roughly 6-7 years. First, here are a couple links with information, specs, buying locations, etc. on the shoe:
Here is my initial take. The main issue with stability shoes is usually that they are too stiff and that they are heavy. I have always been more concerned with weight rather than stiffness. I like the idea of running in the lightest shoe I can without putting myself in danger of injury. During my first run, I will say that I noticed it is a little stiff, but not as much as my Asics Gel DS Racer. The Gel Ds 9 i currently have is stiffer and I never really felt good in it. I won't say I disliked it, but I wouldn't buy it again. It is tiny bit lighter than the Mizuno, but clearly at a cost.
I like they weight so far of the Wave, it is still a fairly light show. Obviously, I only have 4 miles in them, but they are nice so far. I didn't have any hot spots, aches, or anything to be concerned with so far.
Finally, I like the price of this shoe as well. After using a coupon code and VIP membership at RoadRunnerSports, they were $59 shipped to my door.
In the coming week or so, I will revisit the shoe on here to give an update. Also, in the next day or so, I will write up a post on how to buy the right running sneakers. Whether you are knowledgeable on the subject or not.
