04/10/2014 Somewhat Healthy AM Jog

It has been almost 2 weeks since the last time I worked out, and more importantly, ran.  A destructive virus ripped through the household and extended household.  Consequently, my body has not been in any mood to do anything physical.  I am still on the tail end of a chest cold, but it is too nice out not to do anything again.

I just finished up a 3.4 mile run in 30 minutes.  I just ran for feel and after about 10 minutes, I realized I do still have a bit of a chest cold or something.  I started to feel like a 2 pack a day smoker.  Mentally, I was in a good place getting out for a run.  Also, my lower body, the legs, were responding well too.  I felt strong enough to go 5-6 miles today, except in the chest.  It was, and even now sitting here, still is tight and weak.  It's amazing how much damage a virus can do.  I haven't been sick for this long ever I don't think.  My plan is to run again tomorrow and move past sickness.  

It is time to ramp up the fitness again.  I am telling myself that the last 2 weeks were a great rest on the legs and joints before I make a big push through the spring and summer.  I plan to get higher in mileage than I ever have before.
