My apologies for going AWOL for a bit. I had my 40th birthday (awesome thanks to Maura, the kids, and in laws). Also, I have and still am dealing with a major customer service problem with my cellular company. I will not name names, but they suck to the tune of $1400 in unauthorized charges to my debit card. Finally, I am a self pronounced cold weather wimp and the weather is.....freezing.
Anyway, enough excuses. This mornings workout consisted of 125 laps around my gym, for a total time of 45:09. As measured by a distance calculator used for field measurements, I went about 4.8 miles. I did the first 3.44 miles progressively faster, ending with a slower 1.36ish. It felt good to run again, although the tiny course with a million turns and a fair level of boredom were annoying. I am still happy with it though.
My plan is to use the gym more if needed. I really need to get this base training built. Also, the weather is supposed to be in the low forties this weekend, maybe I can get outside.
On a side note, I received an email from an old friend, Brian Robertson the other day. It was awesome to hear from him. I have loosely tracked Brian's exploits over the years because I hold no career in higher regard than Brian's. He is a member of the U.S. Air Force. Helping to keep our country safe, Brian is career Air Force. He is currently training for a half marathon in Madrid and I wish him the best. I am proud to call him my fraternity brother and life long friend.
Good luck Brian and let me know if I can help!
